Anniversary and Grandpa

Monday, April 28th, was two years since Kyle and I met and started dating. I rented Shrek 2, which we watched on our first "date," and Kyle surprised me by getting a babysitter so we could go out for a nice dinner. We went to a cool little restaurant called "Domenico's on the Wharf," which is located on the Old Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey. It's on pillars on a long pier, so our window seats looked out on the harbor. There were two sea lions on a small floating dock below getting some sun- they were REALLY cute!! Then we walked down the Wharf and visited the gift shops, where Kyle bought me the above ring with two opals to celebrate two fantastic years together. It was a great day!

Another great day this week was Wednesday, when my dad was in San Jose on business. San Jose is a couple hours north of us, so he came down to play with Damien and have dinner. We went to our favorite local Chinese restaurant, appropriately named "Grand Buffet." It truly is grand. There aren't many items on the buffet we don't like, although we steer clear of the seemingly misplaced Italian food at the end of the buffet table. But it's always awesome to see my dad, and now we're counting down to grandma's visit on the 15th! (We don't have a countdown to Oma yet, because she hasn't decided when she's coming! :)
